CANDYHEART CUTOUT TEXT
TUTORIAL
THIS WAS DONE BY
ME
The candy hearts and Bookman
Oldstyle font are attached for you to dow
click on the mover tool
before you click on the heart again,
STEP 1. have your hearts in front of
you in psp, and seperated.
STEP 2. get your
eyedropper tool, to select the darker color on the outside of the heart you
will be working on.
STEP 3. Find
a dark place on the outside edge of the heart and click on it to select that
color. When you get a nice dark shade of the heart color, left click
with your mouse, the color will now appear in the color pallet on your right.
We only want the top color box available now, so make sure that
the bottom of the two styles boxes is null, meaning no
selection.
<---null
if your bottom styles box
has a color or pattern in it now, you need to left click on that box,
and hold, until the little fly box comes out, and select null.
<--null
STEP 4. Now using
your cursor, click on the box of the color you have chosed on the color
pallet. Now your color selection box will open.
The color you have
chosen will be in the top box in here, you don't need to change any settings
at this point, but we need to drag the new color, over to a custom color box.
So right click on the top box, with the color you are going to use, and
hold and drag it over to a custom box, anyone will be fine, and then let up on
the mouse, and it will be a new custom color.
Then click
ok.
STEP 5. Now we are going to click on our TEXT TOOL.
STEP 6. Then touch the inside of the heart with your
cursor. When the text box comes up, click on STANDARD TEXT. Now
only the top color box will be used. We need to find the color we just
made, so left click on the top color box, and find the color you made. Click
on the color, and then click ok. Now we need to select our font style,
and size.
The font I chose is Bookman
Oldsyle, SIZE 12, you may have to choose a different size
if you do this again with a different font. But for now, we will use
this one.

#1. Scroll until you find BOOMAN OLDSTYLE
#2
select 12 for your font size
#3 make sure FLOATING is
checked
#4 make sure ANTIALIAS is checked
#5 make sure you
have selected STANDARD TEXT
CLICK OK
STEP 7 Your text is now on the heart. If you need
to move it, to center it, then using your cursor,
grab the word and center
it, you will have the MARCHING ANTS around your letters.
STEP 8 Now we want to apply the setting for the cutout, so go
to
EFFECTS/3D EFFECTS/CUTOUT/ and use this setting
OFFSET 1 for both
SHADOW: black
OPACITY: 100
BLUR: 0
FILL INTERIOR: NOT CHECKED
SHADOW COLOR : BLACK
CLICK OK.
STEP 9 Now go back up to EFFECTS/3D EFFECTS/DROP SHADOW
with your text still floating
and use this setting
OFFSET: 1 for
both
OPACITY: 100
BLUR: 0
SHADOW: WHITE
CLICK OK
Now we
will deselect the marching ants, so right click in your heart. No more
ants
Now that one is done, and you choose the next one you would like to
do, think of a different word, and do the same steps on each heart. You
don't need to change the settings for the lettering effects, they will stay
the same, but you might have to change font size, if the word won't fit on
your heart.
